3 Simple Tips For Traveling With Kids

We are a family of 4 based in Sydney, Australia. Both parents work outside the home and our 2 girls Miss 6 and Miss 8 are in primary school (elementary school). We were both travelers before we met. We want to show our girls the world and not “wait until the children leave home” before we travel. I started the blog in May 2018 to document our travels and to encourage other families to see the world as well.

Here are 3 simple tips for traveling with kids:
 
1. Plan and research before you go 
Instagram and Facebook are good for inspiration and blogs, travel guides and review sites are good for the details. Once you decide on a destination it is great to get ideas of all the places you want to see but then you have to narrow it down to what is realistic. For the best family trips, it is best to travel slower. Spend more times in fewer locations. After all you can always come back. 
2. Save before you go 
We save money for our travels in the budget from each pay and keep it in a separate account. We try to pay for as much as possible before we go and have access to our savings whilst we are away. This means we can enjoy our travels and not worry that we will be coming home to a credit card debt. 
3. Just go 
When you get there, you will probably find it easier than you expected. The more your children travel the better travelers they become. And the more you take them traveling the more confident you will become. So many parents think that traveling with kids is overwhelming or too expensive.
