In this episode, I’m sharing our family’s debt payoff timeline breakdown and our real numbers along the way. I’m letting you guys inside how long our journey took, the financial ups + downs, the leaps of faith + times of waiting, and everything in between. I’m also passing along lots of encouragement for YOU on your own journey…no matter what your numbers or timeline look like.

IN THIS EPISODE, SAMI SHARES ABOUT:

  • My family’s real debt numbers

    • $2,000 medical (8 debts)

    • $14,000 property taxes + IRS

    • $14,000 credit cards (3 debts)

    • $7,000 Melanie’s birth bills

    • $6,000 small misc. debts
      (owed family, small credit cards that I didn’t track the exact amounts of, etc)

    • $68,000 commercial land

    • $99,000 rental house

    • $280,000 big house
      **these numbers are estimated + rounded because we didn't keep very detailed records at the beginning of our journey

  • My family’s debt-free timeline

    • Oct 2014 created a budget

    • Jan 2015 added up our debt, total $490k

    • Feb 2015 found out we were pregnant w/ 3rd daughter

      • Made a timeline, paid off a few more small debts

      • Added $7k to debt with her medical bills

    • April 2016 sold land

      • Paid off land’s balance

      • Emergency Fund $20k

      • Bought SUV $13k

    • Feb 2017 bought boat $6.8k.

    • April 2017 sold rental house...didn’t have a profit

    • July 2017 moved into current rent house

    • Nov 2017 got offer on big house

    • Jan 2018 sold big house...had $5k profit

    • Feb 2018 bought truck $25k

    • Oct 2018 bought camper $6.9K

    • Nov 2019 bought new boat $11k

    • Feb 2020 sold old boat for $3.5
