When you first start out on your debt-free journey you’re probably going to need to find some extra cash to kick your budget into high gear. One of the best things you can do is to start selling things to make some quick extra money!
I’m sharing 4 places to start selling things today!
1. EBay
eBay is perfect for selling your collectibles that are just collecting dust, antiques that you inherited but actually don’t want or need, and anything else unique or unusual.
Note for success: Search eBay’s “completed sales” to see what things have actual sold for, not just what they were listed for.
2. Facebook marketplace
Facebook Marketplace or Local Facebook Classified Groups are great for a quick turnaround sale. Here you can sell just about anything! Household items, furniture (up-cycled or as-is), toys, clothes that you or your kids don’t wear anymore, or even big ticket items like tools or vehicles.
Note for success: Bundle lower priced items like dishes or clothing into groups at a higher price to make the work of meeting with the buyers worth your effort.
3. Etsy
Etsy is the best place to sell your homemade goodies. This is when you get creative and start making good use of all of that craft supplies that you have lying around and stuffed in closets.
Note for success: Research what type of items are selling well and what price point they’re selling at. Learn from your future competitors.
Consignment Auctions are the hidden gem in the resell world. There are auctions for selling literally anything you can think of from antiques + collectibles to farm animals to jewelry to regular household items.
Note for success: Search auctionzip.com to see what auction houses are in your area, what type of items they sell, and what their fees are.
